Summer Teen Jobs for Residual Income

School is out for summer! A summer teen job is likely on your mind. The great thing about living in an age with such excellent technology is: you don’t have to work forty hours a week at your local grocery store to make money. In fact, with a little help, you can become your own CEO during the summer months and go far beyond lemonade stands or summer camp jobs.

What’s Your Favorite Accessory? Unless you’ve been living in a cave the last few years, you probably have an iPod, an iPad or a favorite accessory that you use frequently. Your summer teen job can include these accessories. After all, you use them every day, you keep them with you, and you know what features you need or don’t need.

Or maybe, you have a favorite brand of clothing that you love except they don’t come in certain colors or with certain embellishments. If you know someone who can sew or you have already learned in home economics, you could try making your own clothing with a similar fit, but offer more options.

Get Creative – Get creative when it comes to your summer teen job. Don’t think that every thing you think of has already been done. Even if it has, try improving upon the idea, and make it your own. Think about the things that you need when you’re using your favorite accessories.

Have you recently bought an iPad? You might notice that a regular netbook or laptop bag is too bulky. Maybe you just need a sleeve to protect the screen while out and about.

Are you on a high school cheerleading team? Many schools have a need for matching hair ribbons or bows. Learning how to make unique designs, and selling your services to teams is also another great way to make money. You could even expand into infant and toddler hairbows.

Research the Online Market – Research the online market for your summer teen job.  By now, you’ve identified your niche and the product you want to sell.  Begin research online to see if there is a demand for your product.  Like it was mentioned before, occasionally the online market will already have a similar idea.

Try coming up with ways to enhance your idea.  If you want to sell a sleeve for your iPad and you only see plain colors or a traditional black, try sprucing it up with a drawstring closure and trendy fabrics that people your age would love.

There’s no better way to sell a product than to be a frequent user of what you’re selling.  Be your number one fan and show off your amazing ideas!
